Bumpdate: 20 Weeks!

It's been quite a hectic week, our babysitter was out of the country all week long so between my MIL, hubs and I we have been taking turns staying home with Noah. On top of that, hubs has had to go back into work every evening all week long and it was also one of my busiest weeks at work. To say it's been exhausting is an understatement. Happy it's behind us now, and a more relaxing week to come!

Size of baby:
A banana, 10.2 oz and 6.5 inches. Baby now has working taste buds...for all that yummy milk he/she will be dummying in 20 or so weeks!
Weight Gain: Up another pound or so this week, so looking like 6+ish pounds at this point. Not bad for being halfway there!
Cravings/Aversions: I craved ALOT of ice cream last time around, not at all so far. I wanted McDonald's French fries last weekend so we caved and got them....and they were cold and gross so go figure! I've also been wanting peanut butter and chocolate...not separate but together. So I made these gluten free squares I found online with peanut butter, chick peas, honey and chocolate chips. They were a fail...they turned out as they should have, but I should have known anything that doesn't have flour is going to taste like pure and utter crap. Gluten free = no thank you.
Best Moment This Week: Feeling lots and lots of movement, from the outside! Flutters and even some definite kicks in the lower belly. Really in a sweet spot with this pregnancy, I can't complain about anything and I am just trying to enjoy each and every second because it is going so fast!
What I'm Looking Forward To: Our ultrasound on Monday!! We still haven't decided whether we will find out if its a he or a she. Last time around, Tim really didn't want to know. So we opted against finding out. This time around, he is letting me decide and I flip flop back and forth between wanting to know so badly, and also wanting that same sweet surprise we had with Noah in the delivery room.
Miss Anything?: Not getting winded when I take the stairs at work...and wine. Lots and lots of red wine...the joys of toddlerhood.
Sleep: I am mega impressed with myself these days, I am staying up until at least 10pm and haven't had to pee overnight in quite some time. I am feeling really rested in the mornings, and ready to tackle life with a 15 month old (most days).
Movement:Daily kicks, still pretty low, strong enough to feel on the outside. Love it so much. I still think feeling a baby move inside of me is probably one of the best things in my life, ever.
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing regular shirts, mixed in with my regular leggings and maternity pants.
How I'm Feeling: I'll be full of energy and very motivated to do a ton of housework/exercise one minute, and then a few hours later I will be utterly exhausted. For the most part though, feeling really good. I love having energy.
Symptoms: I had a back breakout earlier in the week, ugh! But heartburn has been non-existant..praise the lords!! Belly seems to have remained the same size this week. I feel like last week and the week before, it really came out in full force!
Workouts: This week I got 4 evening workouts in - a strength training workout in  the basement, a barre class, a pre-natal yoga class and a short treadmill run.

19 Week Bumpdate

I can't believe as of tomorrow we are halfway there! The belly is out in full force, and its looking larger by the minute. Crawling around the floor cleaning up after Noah is making me all huffy/puffy. And by the time I fall into bed at night, I am dead to the world! I feel so much more pregnant this time around.

How far along: 19 Weeks
Baby size: a Mango! (6.0 inches and 8.5 oz)
Weight gain: up a pound this week, so 5 lbs total.
Maternity clothes: All good things must come to an end. I am now officially into my maternity pants. I don't have too many shirts since I wear a lot of loose fitting blouses and longer sweaters with leggings, so for now its just maternity pants and leggings. My workout pants are getting awkwardly tight, and are like cutting off my baby belly leaving me with this large muffin top...ugh! I caved and bought some new tights in one size bigger than normal, and they fit better.
Sleep: I haven't had to get up at night to pee in over a week, it's glorious! I also moved magic mike (body pillow) into our bed this week and have been sleeping so much better.
Gender: I am going to guess boy, because I've still been feeling exactly the same as I did with Noah. We have 10 days to decide whether we want to find out the gender. And do we have names? Not even close...like it hasn't even been discussed.  I think we still like our girls name from last time around, but once again, boys names will be a struggle.
Movement: Feeling flutters when I lay really still and focus.
Best moment this week: feeling baby's more defined movement.
Looking forward to: a nice long weekend this weekend (I took Monday off...yippee).
Food cravings: soups, carbs, also having a lot of smoothies.
Anything making me queasy or sick: nothing
What I miss: Sleeping on my belly.
Symptoms: No heartburn lately at all, and sleeping better with less pee breaks. Just a growing belly!
Belly button in or out: still in
Nursery: Still nothing. I've been doing some research on double strollers and making a list of things we need to buy for baby #2. So far no nursery inspiration or progress. I'm waiting until we decide whether we are going to find out the gender before I get crafty :)
Workouts: We had a storm day Wednesday this week and I think it's the only day I missed getting a workout in...yay me! I did a barre class, a treadmill run, a pre-natal pilates class, an at-home strength workout thanks to Mateya over at The Best Is Yet To Come (she's also expecting!), and 1 pre-natal yoga class.

Another week down, come on week #20!!

Two Under Two

With 156 days to go in this pregnancy, I can't help but think about how drastically our lives are going to change. Labour and delivery...terrified me the first time around. But I've hardly given it a second thought this time. I had such a positive experience the first time, and now I know what to expect and can only hope I am as lucky as I was with Noah (yea yea, you're all thinking fat chance!!).  It's the what-happens-after, the life of having a 19 month old and a newborn. Trying to divide my attention between two, while breastfeeding one and trying to occupy/explain to Noah why Mommy can't be rolling around playing on the floor all the time. How will Noah adjust, will he be old enough to be jealous? How will our marriage change?

Luckily, newborns sleep...ALOT. At least, they are supposed to. Noah slept, but always seemed hard to settle. He made a lot of noises, mostly grunts, that kept me peering over him in his bassinet at all hours of the night. He also liked to use me as a human pacifier, until he developed a love of his pacifier.

I also went through a hormonal rollercoaster ride after having Noah. I'd look at my baby and cry for no reason. I'd read to him, and cry. Happy tears, but still tears. I hated being told I was 'exhausted' and to go nap. I sweated like crazy. Was afraid to stray more than 5 mins from the house without my husband (I don't think I knew how to work the car-seat on my own for atleast 3 weeks). Life went on around me, while I sat home all day and nursed 24/7. As a type A person used to being 'busy', this took some MAJOR adjusting.

To help us out with the transition to life with 2, we have made the decision to keep Noah part time at daycare, it's for both my sanity and for him. It's good for him to socialize with other children...not to mention he LOVES it there, I'd feel horrible taking him away from that. Plus, I don't want to deprive baby #2 of having quality time with me, like I had with Noah. It will be good to have a few days a week where I can take naps if I want to (with baby) and catch up on things around the house. Or just be lazy, if I decide to!

Having our 1st really rocked our world...in a good way. But it was a complete 360 change. Well things will be different this time, instead of having to adjust to a whole new life of having a newborn, baby #2 is going to just fit snugly into our lives. I expect this to  be a whole lot easier the 2nd time, as our lives really won't change all that much by adding another child to the mix. I am confident that after a few hectic weeks, it will all just fall into place. We are going to be so much more confident in our parenting skills the second time around and hopefully we will know what the cries mean...I think we will be just fine. I can't wait to provide a brother or sister for Noah, a constant-companion, a best friend for life.

To all those new Mommies:
Some of the best advice that was said to me was to ignore all of my expectations and just survive. There is plenty of time to develop a schedule and routines when life with baby becomes easier. My last piece of advice is to let people help you. If they offer to bring you dinner, say yes! If they offer to watch the baby while you nap, say yes. And if they offer to babysit, leave some bottles and get out of there before they change their mind HA

Noah: 14 Months!

Little man is another month older as of today, January 14th! Here is the latest on Noah:

someone got his 2nd haircut!

Weight: he's beefing up, now around 25lbs! Still a little short-cake, i'd say 31 inches.

Health: He had a major runny nose all last week that finally cleared over the weekend. Luckily it didn't progress into a full-fledge cold with a fever, coughing, etc. We got 2 new teeth as well, the canine's. Bringing our teeth count to 14!

Sleep: Baby boy loves to sleep. He takes one afternoon nap (12:30-3pm) at daycare. By 6:30 he is normally out like a light and he sleeps until 6:15-7am without a peep. I still rock him at bedtime and naptime, but not normally to sleep unless its nap time. Mama loves her cuddles.

Clothes: all size 18-24 months (except pants he can still wear some 12 months) and size 4 pampers.

Food: This boy can eat! He basically eats everything we give him, except haddock and blueberries. Favorites include: yogurt, apple sauce, grilled cheese, pancakes, spaghetti, green beans, ham and scallop potatoes, and GOLDFISH! Down to only 1 bottle a day at bedtime, otherwise its whole milk in a sippy and water.

Likes: Loves music, this kid can bust a move. He loves to bang on the piano (if we are at either grand-parents house), he also loves to climb stairs. He has those mastered and we don't even have any in our house! He loves his new car he got for xmas, and throws a major tantrum when we take him upstairs after playing.
Dislikes: He's impatient as can be, don't keep this kid waiting. He wants to get right down to his baba at bedtime, no wasting time. If dada tries to get an extra cuddle in before handing him over to me in the rocker, all heck breaks loose!
Milestones: he's waving bye-bye and walking with his walker. Still not walking!! Saying a few words but only audible ones are mama and dada.

throwing every single roll of TP in the bathy bath

Baby Bump Update: 18 Weeks

Well it's been another busy week, another week down! I find the time going so much faster this time around (maybe since we didn't know how far we were for SO long) or maybe its because I am running after a toddler every day. Either way, it's great! I just compared photos to my 1st pregnancy, and my belly is so much smaller this time around. I had gained 10lbs already my 1st pregnancy by 18 weeks. I've only gained 4 so far. Again, my symptoms are identical, minus the weight gain. No morning sickness, the occasional dizzy spell and headache. But overall, feeling amazing.

Had a great doctor's apt Tuesday, they drew blood AGAIN for the maternal screening test. Blood pressure was excellent at 100/60. Nice strong heartbeat from babes. So everything is looking good.

How far along: 18 Weeks
Baby size: an sweet potato (5.6 inches and 6.7 oz)
Weight gain: still 4 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Still nothing, loving my HUE leggings. I want another 3 pairs. They aren't maternity but I can wear them for lots more time. Also still loving my yoga jeans, i'm going to keep wearing those another week or two as well.
Stretch marks: nothing to report.
Sleep: I've been getting up a lot less to pee at night which is awesome. But I've been having some whacko pregnancy dreams this week and dizziness when I do get up at night to pee.
Gender: Based on the way I've been feeling symptom-wise, I am going to say another boy!
Movement: some definite movement this week. It was around this time I felt movement with Noah as well.
Best moment this week: our doctor's appointment, followed by Starbucks :)
Looking forward to: deciding whether we will find out baby #2's sex!
Food cravings: pasta, prunes (weird I know), and bagels.
Anything making me queasy or sick: nothing
What I miss: My belly. I hate this awkward stage where it looks like I just got fat!
Symptoms: mild heartburn this week off and on, and peeing ALOT.
Belly button in or out: still in
Nursery: Still zero progress in this department.
Workouts: 1 pre-natal yoga class, 1 Pilates class, 1 barre class and a run on the treadmill.

Bump Update: Week #17

Wow, I am so far behind with bump updates and photos. It's been a whirlwind in terms of this second pregnancy. We found out early on we were expecting, however we had no idea how far along we really were (I was breastfeeding). After two ultrasounds, and a few doctors apts, they finally determined on December 13th that we were 13 weeks 1 day. We had kept it basically to ourselves up until that point because we wanted to know with certainty how far along we were before breaking the news. So, with all that playing out as it did, it's been a bit crazy. I feel so guilty about not having as many photos or details about this pregnancy, but I'm hoping I can stay in track here now.

How far along: 17 Weeks
Baby size: an onion (5.7 oz)
Weight gain: 4 lbs.
Maternity clothes: nothing yet! I have everything back from my bestie (who is also prego) so they are ready to go whenever I make the jump. I got some super comfy yoga jeans for Xmas and they are super stretchy, even around the waist. I'm also still squeezing into my work pants, so for another week or two I should be ok.
Stretch marks: nothing this time yet either, yes!
Sleep: last night was the first night I feel like I had a rough night sleep, I felt like I had a bit of insomnia. I think the prego pillow needs to make a reappearance.
Gender: as of now, we don't know. If we chose to find out, February 14th is the big day.
Movement: I've felt a few flutters, but nothing for certain.
Best moment this week: had a much needed dinner with the girls on Saturday, great for the soul!
Looking forward to: our next doctors apt on Tuesday!
Food cravings: pasta, bagel sandwiches, orange juice!
Anything making me queasy or sick: nada! I haven't been sick at all with this pregnancy either (thank the heavens). I feel insanely lucky!
What I miss: I never really missed booze with my first pregnancy, but over the holidays I really wanted a baileys on ice and the occasional beer!
Symptoms: after being pretty tired throughout the 1st trimester, I finally have my energy back! But I still crash and burn by about 9pm. Also, the belly really seemed to grow this week!
Belly button in or out: still in
Nursery: the new nursery will be in the guest bedroom. We plan on re-doing our basement starting in feb and creating a playroom/living room, bathroom and spare bedroom down there. So no progress in the nursery dept until the basement renos are done.
Workouts: 3 treadmill runs this week and 1 barre class.

Feeling great this week, hoping this keeps up as long as possible! (especially since I am chasing after a 14 month old every day).

The Joys of Chosing a Daycare

One of the toughest parenting decisions we have had to make to date is where to send Noah to daycare. Who wouldn't want to be able to stay home and raise their kids on their own. To be there each and every day to teach them their ABC's and 123's and influence their daily lives in the best possible way. But let's be honest, these days that is a rarity. And many Mom's like myself, know that just isn't for them. Don't get me wrong, I loved being at home with Noah for a full year. But I also LOVE to work. I love to be independent, I like to have a steady paycheck, and in addition to loving being Noah's Mom...I love what I do.

So began the long search for a daycare for Noah. When we were starting our search, we looked at 3 options:

1. Daycare Centre - Where we live, there is a database that you have to register your child and sign up on waitlists for the particular daycares that you want your child to attend. Not all daycares accept children under 2, and finding spots for children under 2 can be exceptionally hard. I talked to a friend in the industry who recommended 5 locations, so months before Noah was born his name was on the wait lists as "baby O'Brien". Time was approaching for me to go back to work, and I still had not received any calls for any of the places we had put Noah's name for. I inquired with my friend about where we were on some of the lists, and we were miles down on some of them (105th at one place, 36th on another). So we quickly started exploring other options.

2. Nanny- While I was growing up, we always had childcare providers in the home. Mostly because my sister was 7 years younger than I was. It was so nice while in school to be able to run home to a home-cooked lunch at dinner time, and to be able to return home after school to my own house. I don't think I really appreciated how awesome it was at the time. In our area, it is really hard to find qualified people willing to come into your home to provide childcare. It is just so much more lucrative to take children into your own home, or to work in a daycare centre. I loved the thought of this option, as it would allow Noah to be in his own environment with his own toys and his own crib. The cost of a nanny was the highest of the three options (all of which don’t come cheap). Next year when we have 2 under 2, it may be something we will consider again.

3. Home Daycare - This is the choice we opted with. Originally we had a spot for Noah at a home that was recommended by other friends. Noah and I visited the home one day, and I just didn't have an overall great feeling about it. The lady was a darling, but she had some health issues and she took in a ton of kids between the full-time, part-time and after school kids. She also did not take the kids outdoors, and that didn't sit well with me at all.

One day at the park, another Mom highly recommended another homecare. This same lady also came recommended from some of my parents' friends. This lady has 4 grown children, and has taken kids in for 20+ years. She doesn't act or look a day over 40, and is always so full of energy. She has 4 full-time children, and Noah is the youngest by a year. He LOVES going to Heather's. The kids adore him, and he learns so much from interacting with them every day. They spend lots of time outdoors (sometimes twice a day) and Heather makes healthy home-cooked meals and snacks, and does all the baking herself. She has an open door policy, so we can come by anytime we like to check up or to pick up Noah. She comes so highly recommended that she has the flexibility to pick and chose which children she takes. She told me right from the start she had a good feeling about us and little Noah, and we feel incredibly fortunate that she opened her home and her heart to our little family.

Thankfully, our search for daycare couldn't have turned out better. Unfortunately, there are many people who aren't as fortunate. My recommendation is to go with your gut and trust your first insticts, and don't settle for anywhere you aren't 100% completely comfortable with! This is your child's future, and as a parent, you will know when you have found the right spot.

Every week or two, heather sends us a few photos to keep us posted on their activities. Here is a few recent ones. Yes, that is a dolly he is playing with in the 2nd photo ;)

Top 10 Baby Must Have's!!

It appears there is a bit of a baby boom going on right now amongst my friends --- me included, and I'm so excited for everyone! During my first pregnancy last year, I found myself doing a ton of research online as to what products worked best for real Moms (either reviews, or blogs). I didn't have a lot of friends or family members with kids yet to ask for advice. I think it's a right of passage...when you're pregnant, you ask friends that have been there, and then you can't wait to pay it forward and help your friends out that venture down the path after you.

We all know the basics...the crib, changing table, pack and play, car seat, high chair. We all have our preferences, but for first time parents, a trip to your nearest baby superstore may be a bit intimidating. I found myself wondering, "How do I know what's best?" I can recall at least two times I walked out of Babies R Us in tears during pregnancy because I didn't know if I was making the right decisions (of course my hormones didn't help matters!) Let's be frank: There is no right or wrong when you're picking out baby gear. There may be some products you (and your baby) will like better than others. It is all trial and error. So here are the top 10 baby items I found that I couldn't live without!

1. Boppy Pillow - Great for a million reasons, but most importantly for great positioning for breastfeeding from the very beginning. Then they transition to tummy time & a comfy little prop for baby later on. Also, if you buy the boppy bare naked pillow, then you can find adorable covers on Etsy!

2. Ameda Purely Yours- This is the breast pump that I used (and was recommended to me by tons of other moms and the hospital) & I can't say enough good things about it. Pumping SUCKS, but for any breastfeeding Mom out there, it is almost necessary to have do these days unless you want to be permanently attached to your babe 24/7...which lets face it, is just not practical. Regardless of what pump you buy, make sure it is a DOUBLE. That is my only recommendation!

3. Fisher Price Snugabunny Swing - Everybody probably already knows how valuable a baby swing is... this is the one we got and totally loved it! Noah spent every nap and most nights in the swing until he was 3-4 months old. He hated sleeping on his back, and would never settle. Once he was in this sleeper, he fell right asleep. I think he liked the cradled feeling and the elevation. Regardless of what swing you buy, get a CRADLE swing!!! Most newer swings are made this way now, they have multiple positions including recline. PLUS they swing front/back and side/side...bonus!! Plus the neutral colors make it an obvious choice if you want to use it for a boy or girl & plan on it looking good with your home decor! :)

4. Munchkin Car Mirror - We got this from friends, and we are so thankful for it. It allows for you to see your babe in their rear facing car seat.... so great for first time moms that are nervous about driving with your baby for the first time.

5. Motorolla Video Monitor - This was a shower gift from friends, and is likely one of our most used items. Even though we don't live in a large home, it is SO convenient to be able to see what Noah is up to in his crib. This one has awesome reviews, we haven't had any interference issues. And BONUS, when baby #2 comes, we can buy another camera and the parent monitor can connect to 2 cameras...you simply switch back and forth between them as needed.

6. Zipadeezip - Well we rotated between just about every swaddle blanket invented. We used the wombie, the aden and anais blankets, the miracle blanket and the swaddle-me brand. We just couldn't seem to find anything that worked for our little guy. Then, I won a zipadeezip on the Wise Baby giveaway, and we started getting way better sleep out of Noah. The zippy restricts baby's arms (wingspan) to give them the feeling of being enclosed, but doesn't restrict their arms too much. As you move up in sizes, the wingspan increases. Noah STILL sleeps in his (size large) not because he needs to, but because it means I don't have to worry about his hands and feet being cold at night. BEST. INVENTION. EVER!

7. Ergo - We were late joining the Ergo train, as we bought a cheap 2nd hand carrier first. Why oh why did I wait so long?? The Ergo is amazing, its comfortable, supportive and stylish! I still occasionally carry Noah in it (when we went to find our xmas tree) and even at 14 months, he doesn't mind it!

8. Wubbanub - Some babies don't take soothers, but for any of those that will, I HIGHLY recommend the wubby! It is our lifesaver. Noah would be lost without his. We actually own two, one for daycare and one for home. He sleeps with it at all times, and it is also his lovey (instead of a blankey).

9. Sleep Sheep - We got one as a gift from friends, and we use it for every bedtime and naptime. The only downfall, is it only plays for 45 mins. I wish I could get it to play all night long. But it does provide the necessary white-noise at bedtime that many, if not most, babies need.

10.  Car Seat Cover - We live in Canada, and our winters are freezing. With the car seat requirements, its illegal to bundle your babies up before putting them in the seat. We used this cover every day last winter when Noah was a newborn. Such a smart invention. It goes over the car seat, so its safe, and the you can stuff a blanket in and around the baby inside the cover!

11. Aden & Anais - Ok I lied, I have 11 favorite products! These are the best (and cutest!) blankets of all time... great for not only swaddling but the perfect lightweight carseat cover for cool weather or germ protection. We bought 4 before Noah was born and I remember wondering if we needed so many? Well we used at least one a day...now I understand why they sell them in packs of 4!

So that sums it up, our favorite baby products of all time! With baby #2 on its way, there isn't much we are needing as we can reuse most items. However, we will be purchasing a new bouncy chair. The last one we had wasn't great, it was 2nd hand and Fisher Price and it was heavy and not practical. I'll be investing in the snuggabunny bouncer to cart around the house. Other than that, we may need another wipe warmer, noise machine, and diaper genie. And we need to purchase the 2nd camera for our video monitor and a DOUBLE Stroller!! Oh the joys!

New Year. New Goals. Make 2014 Count!

Well with the beginning of a new year, comes new resolutions. I have never really been one for resolutions, as they almost always end up being totally unrealistic and unachievable. However I always do tend to try and keep a few things in mind throughout the year, of things I want to improve on.

Every morning we wake up and I am immediately rushing around the house. I jump in the shower before the baby wakes and literally go full tilt so I can get ready before he wakes up. Then its lunches, eating breakfast, getting Noah changed and dressed and teeth brushed, and his bag packed, and bundled in his snow suit and off to daycare he goes. It is hectic, to say the least.

In the evening, time is spent picking Noah up at daycare, making dinner, cleaning up after dinner, entertaining Noah, bath time and bedtime routines. Its then after 7 and I am wiped! And normally there is still so much more I want to accomplish...those dishes, a run, the laundry. So much time is spent rushing and rushing, sometimes it is hard to just stop and enjoy the time we all have together before it is bedtime.

I am going to make 2014 count by :
1- Spending more time with my family. This year is going to bring big changes to our little family, with a new addition entering our lives in June. With that being said, I want to really enjoy the time we have left as a little family of 3. That means less craziness, less rushing, more balance. Putting the phone away in the evenings, and picking up a book instead. Enjoying snuggles and naptime cuddles without rushing through bedtime routines. Spending more days in our pj's! Playing outside...lots and lots of playing outside. Noah isn't going to think I am the most awesome person in the world for much longer, I need to soak this time up while it still lasts.
2 - Also spending more time with my friends and people who are important to me. This one is tough, we are all at the age of starting our own families. Lots of us, with really young ones. And that makes spending time together tough. But that just means we need to find new ways to spend time together, walks with the babies, daytime play dates with java and jammies, and every once in awhile, a good girls night!

3- Pick and choose my battles - is it really the end of the world that Noah totally destroyed the entire house in a matter of minutes...opened the drawer with all the Tupperware and thru every piece on the floor, while simultaneously took out every diaper from his change table and tossed them on the ground while throwing every book on the shelf on the floor, all while looking at mommy and daddy and smiling? No. It is not causing anyone any pain and he is not going to get hurt, so play on!

4 - Be more organized and plan ahead - It's time to get back to having some "me" time, which normally has to be planned out in advance with my husband's schedule. Plan to get out for a run or two a week, or a few classes, or simply to do some running around. Under this also falls getting back into healthy eating and meal planning which totally fell off the wagon since the holidays.

5- Live more in the moment - I have a horrible, horrible tendency of being on my phone all. the. time. I feel like I am involved in what's going on, but when Noah is watching Thomas and Friends, do I really need to pay attention? He doesn't even know I'm here, he's so focused. BUT how do I know that?  I want to make more of a conscious effort to enjoy the moment.

6- Have more date nights - We get so wrapped up in Noah that we forget to go out by ourselves. We have amazing family members that live so close that we need to plan some time for ourselves. We went to supper and a movie last weekend and we were gone from the house for like 6 hours, and it was glorious!!
7 - Set One Fitness Goal - Exercise is normally one thing I like to set a specific goal. Last year, it was to complete a half-marathon. Early on in the year, I expected to complete it in May. I quickly realized, after having Noah in November that it was completely unrealistic to try to accomplish that by May. No biggie, I told myself. I started training in July, and completed my 3rd half marathon in October. Booya!
This year, well I will be pregnant half the year. That by no means gives me a free pass, but I would like to get back into training by the fall with hopes to complete at least a 10k by October.

So that's my plan for 2014. What a year it is going to be!!

Happy New Year - Some BIG News!!

That's right, 2014 is about to get a lot more exciting for our little family as we get ready to welcome baby #2 in June :) We are thrilled, and a little overwhelmed at the thought of having 2 under 2, but we are definitely up for the challenge. We know that Noah is going to be such a great big brother, but for now, I am going to soak up every minute of him being my one and only baby.

Wishing you all the best in 2014, and lots more to come on the blog soon including bump-dates, New Years Resolutions and some Re-caps.
