Baby Noah: 28 Weeks

Well 28 weeks has been one of very little sleep and lots of snuggle time/rocking with my boy. He's had 2 teeth come through this week and he's been waking up very upset in the middle of the night and has been impossible to settle and get back to sleep. I've been having to feed him to sleep most times, and sometimes it takes the two of us to get him back down.

Weight: 19 lbs and 26 1/4 inches long. That puts him in the 74th percentile for weight and only 32nd for height...he is built like his father ;)
Trying to get into his toy basket

Health: Well we've had two teeth come through this week, and in addition baby boy has been stuffy/runny nose and coughing a bit here and there. I'm hoping it doesn't turn into a full fledge cold.
Noah loves reading books with Dad

Sleep: Well he's been waking up SCREAMING twice a night for the past week. It must be his teeth. It is impossible to sooth him unless I feed him, and as soon as we lay him back in his crib he starts screeching again. It's been rough, but I am hoping the worst is over. In better news, he has been sleeping longer stretches at night. He goes down around 7 and normally wakes around 11, and again around 3-4. So much better now that he isn't waking every 45 mins for his soother.

watching us do the gardening

His naps have been much better, normally taking 2-3 a day anywhere from 45 mins- an hour and 30 mins. He is all over the map!

Social: This week we were on the go as usual! We made it out to the Baby Reel Deal movie on Wednesday and to baby/mama fitness class today. We also went for a few walks and to the park to play. In addition, we had our family photos and Noah's 6 month photos done this week after being rescheduled due to weather 3 times. Last weekend we had a potluck with some other wonderful mommas and babies that we have been doing fitness class with. It was a blast, look at how cute the babes are all lined up!

Noah looks massive!!

Diet: Breastmilk 4-5 times a day (8am, 12pm, 4pm and bedtime, and the occasional nighttime feeding). He is getting cereal every morning around 9am, and then a bit of cereal and a veggie at supper. So far we've had carrots, sweet potatoes and avocado. Next up is beans and peas...yum yum. I've been making my own babyfood and I must say, I am LOVING it! Tim got me a food processor as a "just because" gift a few months ago, and I love making little man's food. It is so easy, and this way I know exactly what he is eating. No fillers, no sugar, just the good stuff! And it is so much cheaper. I got 8 servings of sweet potato (below) out of one medium sized potato.

I lost this battle with avocado and carrots...

Clothes: All 9 months now, with the occasional 12 month sleeper and onesies. Still size 3 diapers, we've been in these for what feels like forever now!

Baby Gear Love: We love the munchkin mesh teether these days for baby boy's sore gums. And Sophie, he likes to chew her head.

Crying: Well my normally always happy boy has been crying more than normal lately with his teeth. Normally just in the evenings and at night. He has also been really clingy and doesn't like to be put down, and wants to be rocked...alot. Not that I mind, I love my snuggles with my boy.
Grandpa's Sidekick

Likes: He much prefers to sit up then lie down now, and he is liking to be on his belly so that he can shimmy all around and get things within his grasp. Also loves being read to, and rocked to sleep.

Postpartum: Just when I thought I was getting my "shape" back, I went to old navy to try on a pair of colored skinny jeans in my regular size and I was busting out the sides of them. #depressed

Milestones: First 2 TEETH!

That's all for this week. I am hoping by next week we will be a little more rested! Hoping the nice summer weather will continue :) xo

A Day In the Life 6 Months - Pictures Edition

Wednesday, May 22nd
7:00am - Monkey is awake. Daddy gets him up and changes his bum before bringing him into bed with me.

8:15am - He's been refusing to nurse lately, so I offer him a few oz I have in the fridge while we catch up on last night's episode of The Voice. He loves Adam Levine like his Momma.

8:32am - Playtime for the monkey while I putter and eat my own breakfast.

8:44am - Since the little stinker wouldn't breastfeed this morning, I have to pump...sigh.

9:01am - Momma needs a coffee...teething baby = exhausted mama.
9:15am - Baby gets cereal...he loves it.

9:28am - Nap time...thank goodness!

9:46am - Time for this Momma to get cleaning. I know I only have a short amount of time since Noah only cat-naps. On today's docket is scrubbing the bathroom (tub, counters and toilet), sweeping floors, dry mop and wet mop hardwood as well as my Spring Clean Duty of the week to disinfect and clean kitchen counters.
10:30 - My cat napper is awake so its story time. This week's favorite is Peepo! Also time for babe to eat around 11am.
11:22am - Baby hangs out in the swing while I get ready for the day.
12:43pm - Nap time #2. I have to rock him for this nap.
1:02pm - Mama time. I catch up on some TV shows and FB.
1:25pm - Baby is up, and out the door we go for our group playdate. He has his third feeding of the day while we are out.
3:31pm - Back home, and time for nap#3 since monster had two very short naps today. This nap he is taking in his swing because Mama also wants a niceeee, long nappy.
4:47pm - I start supper while Noah is still napping. Tonight we are having chicken pizza and caesar salad.

5:10pm - Daddy is home! Few snuggles with Dad and Noah breastfeeds again for 5 mins.
6:00pm - Time for tonight's din din, we are having cereal mixed with Avocado. Baby boy eats it all up! Then we are all out the door to the mall so I can show the boys a few dresses I am eyeing up for a wedding this summer.
7:45pm - Night Night to Noah.

9:38pm - We try to get to bed early tonight. Shortly after crawling into bed, baby wakes up crying so in I go to offer him a dream feed and to try and get him back down. Somewhere between 10:30-10:45 I tumble into bed and am out like a light....

Soooo that is a day in the life these days. Normally I'd squeeze in a workout on Wednesday's at 10am, but we skipped today since baby boy kept us up all night the night before with his tooth coming through.

How do you spend your days with baby?

Baby Noah: 27 Weeks

Another week has come and gone! These weekly pics are getting harder and harder to take since Noah is getting more mobile. To get him to sit still and look strait ahead was a task in itself! So week 27 has been a HUGE one. We got our first tooth! Yes, the little monkey finally had his bottom left tooth come through on Tuesday. He was home with his Nanna and she found it while I was out. This explains his nursing strike he has been on for the past few days. He also hasn't quite been himself. His sleeping has been way off, and he has been more attached than normal (doesn't want to be put down).

Weight: 18-19 pounds. We get his 6 month needle tomorrow and we will have a more accurate measurement after that.
Modelling his new "Baby Banz" we picked up on Babysteals.com

Health: Well he's been a bit off for a few days from his teeth. Just a tad fussy, which for me is horrible since he is normally the best baby ever.

Sleep: Ugh don't get me started. Last night (after cutting the tooth) he was literally up every hour. Hubby and I were exhausted. I had to give him tylenol and put him in the swing, and he was still waking every 30 mins in the swing crying. It was horrible!!
being silly with Mom

Social: Well our momma/baby fitness sessions are over and that makes me sad :( We were used to getting together 3 times a week with the other mommas and babes, and that was the best way to fit in workouts for me. In addition, the weather the past week has been shit so we haven't been getting out for too many walks either. We are going a little stir crazy! We did make it out today for a playdate though.

Diet: Still breastmilk every 4ish hours, around 6-8 oz.  Normally he eats around 8, 11:30, 3 and bedtime. Also a dream feed around 10ish. He is getting cereal twice a day which he loves. Chicken was a fail, so we tried avocado this week and he likes that a little better. I mixed it in with his cereal last night and he gobbled it right up. I've been making my own so far, and it's a lot of fun!
Taking a bottle since he's been on a nursing strike lately...

Clothes: In all 6-9 months, and some 12 month onesies fit now. I recently got him some 9-12 month jammies. I was holding off thinking that he wouldn't need any since it would be summer. But I think he'll be out of his 6-9 month jammies before summer hits. Still size 3 diapers.

Baby Gear Love: Nothing new here. I need to get this kid some more toys! He's been playing with our coasters lately and loves them...kids are strange!
Picking tulips on the one nice day we've had lately...

Crying: A little bit during the day this week from his teeth, oh and at night ofcourse! People who have babies that sleep through the night really are SO lucky!

Likes: Loves loves eating his cereal. Loves to steal noses (Grampy's since its so large). Still into grabbing neck-fat..not fun! Also likes to sit and play.
Trying Avocado for the first time!

Postpartum: Ran my 2nd post-baby 5km race on Saturday on the coldest, rainiest, windiest day we've had all spring. Let me tell you, it sucked! But it was to celebrate the end of our 8 weeks baby mamma fitness class and I didn't want to bail on the other mama's. I did leave Noah home becuase it was THAT cold, and only two other mamas came, but we made it through and despite the conditions I was a full minute faster than my previous race I ran Easter weekend. Not bad!

Milestones: 1st tooth is the big one this week!

Noah - 6 Months!!

I am just a few days late posting Noah's 6 month update. It's been a whirlwind the past few weeks. We officially can't get enough of you. You are the cutest and most well behaved baby, if we could just get your sleeping on track I am convinced you would be practically perfect :)

We started solids about 10 days before you turned 6 months. You love cereal. We started off once a day and increased to twice a day after a week, so about an hour after your morning feeding and again at supper time. You have spaced out your eating since starting solids, you want to nurse every 4 hours or so. Most days you only nurse 4 times a day, and then i'll dream feed you before I go to bed or you will wake up around 2am looking to eat.

We tried chicken last night for the first time (pureed) and you were NOT a fan! Check out the video I posted earlier today, the facial expressions were hilarious. I also gave you a taste of sweet potato the other night since I was making it for our supper...you weren't sure if you liked it or not.

Your sleeping has improved since you started solids. But it is still not great by any means. You are still waking for your soother a few times a night, depending on the night. The other night was the 1st time since you moved to your crib that you spent the entire night in the crib without me throwing in the towel around 4am and bringing you into our room in the swing so that I can get 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep (since you sleep in the swing so well).  Napping twice a day normally, some days 3 times depending on what time you wake up and how long your other two naps were. You are definitely a cat-napper, 45mins or an hour normally. You sleep on your right or left side, with your hands over your face. It is so cute. The odd day as of late, you will surprise me and nap anywhere from 1.5 hours to 2 hours. But it doesn't happen regularly.

You have the loudest giggle and you love to be tickled and play with Dad. We love to hear you squeal with delight. You and Dad love to watch TV together. And if I try to feed you in front of the TV, forget it! You can't focus on anything but watching the tube. You've recently found your toes and you love to lie on your back and suck on your toes. So cute!

You can sit up on your own unassisted for a few mins at a time. Still not a big roller. You weigh 18 pounds 11 oz, and are 28 inches long. Such a big, strong boy! 6 month needles are next week.

Lots of things we are loving at this stage, but that's for another post.

You are changing and developing each and every day. This age is so much fun. We are loving on you like crazy little man. Thank you for making each day such a delight in our house. We adore you!! xoxo

Noah Does Chicken

I had to post this as it was just too funny. Big boy is definitely not a fan of puree chicken!

Sorry about the poor audio and visual, I was trying to feed him and take the video at the same time!

Baby Noah: 25 Weeks

Well week 25 has been a fun one. Noah has really taken well to solids, and feeding him is so much fun! We also had a really busy weekend. My sister graduated from University, so there was lots of celebrations happening and lots of visitors all weekend long.

Weight: Still in the 18 lbs area. We have his 6 month appointment today, so will find out for sure.

Health: Still a healthy boy, hasn't had any sicknesses yet and I am crossing my fingers we can keep it that way!
My boys took me out for Mother's Day Supper

Sleep: Since returning from vacation I have gotten him back down to 1 nighttime feed, which is great. He has also been sleeping longer stretches since starting solids. He's been going down around 7-730 and then when I go to bed around 10 I have been dream feeding him. This has eliminated the need to feed him at his usual 2am feeding, so then he goes until 8am the next morning. He still wakes a few times for his soother, but i've been letting him find it himself and shockingly, he's been putting himself back to sleep a few times. If he really cries and can't figure it out, I go in and help him.

Still napping 2-3 times a day. His naps are finally lengthening. His morning nap is now around 1.5 hours at 9:30ish, and then he'll go down for an hour nap around 1pm. Sometimes he needs a little cat nap around 4pm, depends on the day.

Baby boy fell asleep on me at my parents house on the weekend. I savour this sweet moments as they don't happen very often anymore :(

Social: Well we were out and about lots of the weekend, celebrating my sister's grad and Mother's Day. It was a great weekend, and my boys were very good to me. They took me to supper Friday night, and Sunday morning they treated me to chocolate covered strawberries in bed with coffee...delish!
Love my little fam!
Noah is very proud of his auntie!

Diet: He's starting to cut out one feeding now that he is on solids. So normally he'll eat around 8am, again at noon, 3 or 4pm and then bedtime. And then the dream feed around 10pm. He gets cereal twice a day now, around 9am and again at 5pm. We hope to introduce chicken this weekend!
loves reading Peepo!

Clothes: Mostly 9 months, but I've been buying 12 months onesies since I want him to get as much wear out of them as possible the next little while.

Baby Gear Love: Still loving our walks in the stroller.
The boys cheering on their favorite team...the Leafs!

Crying: Only when overtired or upset over something. He loses his temper sometimes when he cant figure out how to get one of the exercauser toys in his mouth.

Likes: Likes grabbing neck fat, if he can get his hands on it. Also grabbing hair and ears, his little pinchers hurt!!

Postpartum: With the busy weekend I didn't get much activity in, but we've been walking alot and we are running our first 5km race this weekend (with baby!!). Three mommy's from our mama/baby fitness class are doing it together. Should be fun and the weather is looking great!
out for our morning stroll, after a quick pit stop for an iced capp at Tim Hortons!

Milestones: He's scooting in his crib and on his playmat. Some nights I put him at one end of the crib, and when I go in again he is at the other with his legs through the holes! He often ends up off his mat and on the hardwood floor, and I have yet to see him do it! I wish I knew how he got there. He is sitting unassisted and eating solids. He also shakes his head no, back and forth back and forth, if he doesn't want to eat anymore.
