10 Month Favorites

Well still quite a few of the same products that we were loving at the 7&8 Month Mark, with a few new items as well!!

1. Playskool Sit and Stand Walker - I picked this up at TRU when it was on sale for $19. I have seen them go for that price used, so I thought I couldn't pass it up. I took it home and assembled it MYSELF, and Noah has loved it since the minute I had it together. He can't figure out how to walk with it yet, but loves to sit on it and watch cartoons or sit in front of it and play with all the gadgets.

2. Infantino Cart Cover - I got this on amazon canada, and it is so handy for all the grocery store runs we make. I don;t have to worry about gross germs, or if its raining I don't have to wipe it down before putting Noah in. He loves to sit in the cart and help me shop.

3. Ocean Wonders Aquarium - We ordered this off amazon as well, and he didn't take much notice of it as he was too young at first. Now, he loves it. He can push the button to turn it off/on and he will sit there for ever in his crib watching the bubbles and listening to the soothing music. Definitely worth the money!

4. Bumbleride Stroller - My MIL bought this for us off our registry off amazon Canada as well, and we love it! I love it, Noah loves it, we spend hours cruising the streets together. It is much lighter than other joggers on the market (7 lbs lighter than the BOB) and it is so easy to fold up and toss in the trunk. It's got tons of features (cup holder, zippered pocket, huge canopy, basket) and has lots of additional add-ons you can purchase. I'll never own another stroller!

5. Safety 1st Alpha Omega Car Seat - We upgraded Noah a month ago out of the infant seat and into the next stage car seat. This seat is not for small cars (trust me), I own a Jetta which is by no means a small car, and this thing renders the passenger seat basically useless. That being said, we won't have to purchase another seat for Noah ever again as this works as a booster as well (hence the size of it) and Noah loves the larger seat and being on the passenger side. He is SO much happier in this seat, and I am happy to not be lugging him around everywhere in our old seat!

6. Wubbanub - "wubby" has basically become Noah's blankey. He loves that thing like no other, and heaven forbid we ever lose him! When I nurse him I have to keep him within his grasp so he can hold him while he eats, and he goes to bed and for naps every day with him.

7. Nuby Sippy Cup - Definitely our favorite sippy at the moment, we own 3 of them. They have a soft spout which makes it easier to drink from and they rarely spill.

8. Aden & Anais Sleep Sack - Noah used the zipadeezip exclusively from 4-9 months, but we've been using the sleep sack more and more lately and I think he likes to have his hands free now that he is older.

Well that is it for our 10 month favorites! Next up, a day in the life post with a 10 month old...

Noah is 10 Months!

Double digits, my little baby is looking more and more like a toddler and no longer like a baby. I have such mixed feelings. I love this age, and the joy he brings to us every day. On the other hand, I am sad to be losing my baby and the thought of returning to work soon makes me want to cry.

In terms of milestones, we are motoring around (still an army crawl) but man can you move! You do get up on all 4's and crawl briefly like that, before going back to your belly and cruising all around. You pull yourself up to standing in your crib, what a shocker that was when I looked into the monitor to see you proudly peering over the crib rail. You are also standing assisted using furniture or toys.

You love playing peek-a-boo. You will crawl down the hallway to find one of us in the washroom, and then peek your head around the corner over and over again. You also play peek-a-boo with yourself in mirrors, its so cute! I think we can say your first official word was da-da, and you try awfully hard to say buh-bye as well. When you get really upset sometimes I think you say ma-ma. Speaking of ma-ma, you are hands down a mama's boy. You are fine with Dad or whoever is watching you when I am not home, but the minute I enter a room you want me and all me. I kind of love it. I also got you the Playskool car/walker and you LOVE it. It is your new favorite toy at the moment, and I got it for a steal of a deal $19 at Toys R Us. You also still adore the kitty and are really giving him a run for his money lately, yanking out his fur and taking his legs out from under him. So far he has been very tolerable,
thank heavens!

You've mastered the sippy cup (Nuby) and are eating more big people food. I made chicken pot pie last week and he gobbled that up, also loving whaffles and beef stew and yogurt. You are getting better with finger foods, and soon we will be done with making your baby food. There really isnt anything we've tried that you don't like. We are still nursing 4 times a day, and in the next month I am going to have to start weaning the 2 daytime feeds (noon and 4pm) and start introducing a bit of  whole milk before I go back to work. I think we will keep the morning and bedtime feeds as I don't want too much of an adjustment too soon with starting daycare and me returning to work around the same time.

We are still getting 12 hours of sleep out of you every night, and it is glorious. Occasionally, I miss those tender middle-of-the-night moments. But we are basking in the glory of full nights of sleep. You also are still taking 2 great naps a day, from an hour to 2 hours each. Mommy has been using this time to prepare for your first birthday, andddd watch Pretty Little Liars.

You dislike getting your face wiped off, and lately have not been a fan of getting your bum changed. The "freak out" during bath time seems to have stopped (thank goodness) as it was taking a 2 person team to tackle bath time.

You have 7 teeth, and I think the neediness/whininess that was a few weeks ago was as a result of the 7th tooth coming through. You are back to playing independently and love it.

You have the happiest personality, and you really are the cutest, sweetest most loveable little man. Our world evolves around you, and you make our days so full of joy. We love you so much! xo

Fall Fun

Well this week brought fantastic weather, sunshine and warm (but still fall-ish) temps and Noah and I definitely took advantage. We did two 4 mile runs together with the stroller, and hit up the pumpkin patch with our friends Emily and her little boy Denver. The owners had so many cute little set-ups for photo ops, and we had a blast. By the end, the boys were so done with the photos and were getting a little frankly. Here is a few of my fave's from our fun at the patch!

And last but not least...a little meltdown in the pumpkin patch!

Baby Noah: 41 Weeks

Weight: 22-23 lbs and 30 1/2 inches long

Health: He was a bit whiny the past few weeks, and his 7th tooth popped through today so I am guessing that was the reason! It is the bottom left, next to the 2 centre teeth. We bought his first tooth brush and have been brushing his teeth once a day, he loves it!

brushing his teethies

Sleep: Consistantly sleeping through the night, every night for the past few weeks. It's been amazing. If he does stir, its only to find his soother and he is back to sleep. Most nights he is down before 7 or at 7, and sleeps until 7 or 730 the next morning. When he wakes, he just chills out and plays until we come get him. It's amazing how great of a sleeper he has become!

Naps are still good too, normally down around 930-10 for an hour or so. And down around 1 or 2 for 1-2 hours.
snuggling with Mama

Social: Lots of playdates and shopping with Mom lately. We also took Noah to soupfest with us last weekend in the pouring rain. I put him in the Ergo and he was somewhat content for about 20 mins until he decided he wanted to be able to see what was going on.

Diet: He is breastfeeding so much better lately, which gives me hope we can keep it up until the year mark! Still 4 times a day 8am, noon, 4 and bedtime. Never at night and my supply has adjusted accordingly. He is so quick now, I'd say 2 mins tops. I am guessing his intake has also dropped to somewhere around 20 oz a day. He is loving solids, and demolishes 3 meals a day. He loves yogurt!!

Clothes: 12-18 months for jammies, 12 months for shirts and onesies and 9-12 month for pants.
practicing trick or treating!

Baby Gear Love: He likes his big boy car seat, which we switched him to a few weeks ago. Its on the passenger side so he can look out the window, which he loves.

Crying: His whiny stage seems to be over. He rarely fusses in the car or out in public. If he gets tired at home he will get a bit fussy by times. The only time he really screams is in the bath, which he is now terrified of. I am hoping it is just a phase!

Likes: He likes shredding kleenex, chasing the cat, crawling all over furniture, tupperware, sitting in the shopping cart...being a big boy!

Postpartum: Well I am officially done pumping! I haven't pumped in ten days, and I am loving it. I was pumping at least once a day for Noah's cereal, but just shy of 10 months I decided I could start mixing it with water and Noah hasn't seemed to notice the change. Its such a relief to be done with the pump!

we love to read!

Milestones: I am pretty sure we can say that "dada" was his first word. We occassionally get a mum-mum when he gets upset. He also tries to wave bye bye and says "buh". Still army crawling, oh and we found him sitting up in his crib last week. He is also perfecting his standing skills.

Until next week! xo

41 Weeks In & 41 Weeks Out

Well here I was 41 weeks ago...feeling large and not so in charge of my body who refused to co-operate and go into labour. This picture was taken the day before I went into labour and I was so over being pregnant, at 11 days overdue.

And here is little man, 41 weeks to the day after this photo was taken. What a difference 41 weeks makes, my baby is almost a toddler!

Tim and I say all the time that no matter how much we love and adore each other, we love our little man beyond that. I can't begin to describe the kind of love you have for your child. It's a kind of love I never knew existed until I became a Mom. It's all consuming, adoring, awe-ful. He is amazing. The perfect balance of the two of us. A blessing.

By far, the best 41 weeks of my life. We love you Noah!! XO
